Shetland Livestock Marketing Group in conjunction with Aberdeen & Northern Marts sold 1280 Lambs at the first sale of the season. The pre-Sale Show was generously sponsored by Brae Building Centre, Suppliers of Livestock feed, minerals and nutritional products. The Judge was Mr Brian Anderson, Seafield Farm, Lerwick.

All classes met an excellent demand. The sale average showed an increase of £4.77 on the corresponding sale of last year. Lambs were lighter and not as well fleshed as previous years. Due to recent wet weather lambs were not shown to advantage however this did not adversely affect their price.
